Speaking during the commissioning and formal presentation of the chairs at the 10th interhouse sports competition of the school, Mr. Menegbo said the gesture was part of his commitment to give back to the society by contributing towards educational development.

He said he was touched when on a visit to the school he found out that the students were lacking sufficient chairs and he decided to make his little contributions to address the challenge.
Mr. Menegbo, who is a retired security personnel, called on the government to make meaningful investment in the educational sector, and urged the students and the school authority to make judicious use of the facilities.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Principal of the school Mr. Kpobari Beta, had listed some of the challenges of the school to include encroachment into the school compound, borehole for students and inadequate chairs.

The Principal who commended the philanthropist for his gesture said, before the donation of the chairs some of the students sat on bare floor to receive lessons. He called on other well-meaning individuals to borrow a leaf from Mr. Menegbo.

Adolphus Yorika House came first in the, competition, while Simeon Menegbo House and Solomon Ilar House came second and third respectively. The highlight of the event include the award of scholarship to some outstanding students by Mr. Simeon Menegbo among others.
