President Muhammadu Buhari's return to Nigeria was put off late last night because his doctors would not certify him healthy enough to return home despite strong pressure from members of his inner circle.

Presidency sources said the desperation to have him back was so much that the cabal sent to London on Friday the biggest jet in the presidential fleet, a Boeing Business Jet 737, known as "Airforce 001."

Rivers Rerun: Nigeria Police recover N111 million from 23 ‘corrupt’ INEC officials

Bribe recovered by the Nigerian Police 
The panel constituted to investigate the electoral and other offences perpetrated during the December 10 Rivers Parliamentary re-run election has said that it recovered N111 million from 23 INEC officials.

The Chairman of the panel, Damian Okoro, made the allegation while presenting the team’s report to the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in Abuja on Tuesday.

3 Friends To Spend Christmas and New Year In Prison For Stealing Fruits

Three men have been denied the liberty of enjoying the festivities of Christmas, after a magistrate court sentenced them to prison for stealing. They were sentenced to six months imprisonment each for stealing palm fruits and pineapples in Osun State.

The judgement was delivered by a Magistrate court in Osogbo, the state capital. The convicts are:
57-year-old Azeez Olarewaju, Sarafa Olarewaju, aged 33, and Ilutoye Olayode, aged 25.

Ericsson Sacks 160 Nigerian Workers, Takes Jobs To India

Ericsson Nigeria, the local subsidiary of the global telecoms solutions provider, has disengaged about 160 permanent and outsourced workers in its Network Operating Centre, investigations have shown.

It was gathered that the disengagement, which takes effect on Sunday, December 4, 2016, affected 55 full-time employees of the company.

Baby Abandoned Near Refuse Dump in Akwa Ibom Cries To Death [PHOTO]

Residents of Ikot Ekpene Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital were weekend thrown into shock over the death of a baby girl found abandoned in biscuit carton.

A passerby, identified as Okon Isaac, who was on his way to a filling station along the area on Saturday, was said to have heard the cry of the baby.

A 75-year-old man, Mallam Yahaya Shanjijiri, and his 14 children were among over 500 suspected criminals who voluntarily renounced their activities in Rijau area of Niger state at the weekend.

Mallam Shanjijiri, said to be one of the most notorious criminals in the state who publicly announced his retirement from his illicit business at the palace of Sarkin Bauchi, in Rijau, confessed to have been kingpin for over 30 years.
